The pieces carved as European court v Moors, Set is an excellent example of work produced by Dieppe craftsmen with fine detail and excellent carving. Set is a good early example with white bishops carved as bishops as oppose to the later Dieppe sets the bishops carved as fools to poke fun at the church as an institution in the 19th century.
