One side stained red other side left natural, the pieces are of the highest standard of carving each piece carved on large deep carved decorated bases,the 8 sided bases with carved decoration to each side, the pieces are carved from one piece of ivory and not fixed to bases. The Kings & Queens carved as chinese (white)& mongolian (red) emporers & empresses with opposing courts, the detail of the carving is superb , the pawns as 4 with musket and 4 with sword + shield on red side, all shields being decorated with grinning faces. White knights as mounted warriors with sword & shield, red knights with lances, bishops carved as mandarins with fine carved costume, also kings and queens with fine carved decorated costume.

Fine Canton laquer chess / Backgammon board the exterior with Chess board in black laquer & gold the black laquer squares with gold laquered figures, chess board borderd by gold laquer scrolling foliage sides with gold laquered scenes. Exterior with gold & red laquer decorated backgammon board, with 2 carved ivory shakers one stained red other left natural, 30 carved ivory backgammon pieces stained red & natural.
