White king carved as King George lll of England the white queen as Queen Charlotte, red king & queen as Chinese Emperor & Empress, white bishops as christian priests, red bishops as mandarins, knights carved as horsemen, rooks carved as elephants with towers a top, pawns carved as footsoilders white pawns with sword & shield, red pawns with spears.

The pieces on carved puzzle ball stands (carved ball within ball) , the larger pieces with 4 balls. An excellent carved detailed set being of a good size.These sets were made in Canton china for the export market of europe.
