Very Fine turned & carved Ivory Burmese Pattern Chess set, one side stained red other side left natural. Kings & Queens with large pierced crowns each piece with king & queen face carved to the crowns , with high detailed bodies & bases, Bishops with large carved decorated mitres each carved with a bishops face & high detailed bodies with carved swag decoration, Knights as fine carved horses heads with double carved manes & bridles , rooks as fine carved towers surromounted by flags , each tower with high detailed bodies & four doors to base of tower two open & two shut. Pawns with fine carved bodies.

Set is of the highest quality of carving and would have been produced by one of the top cantonese ivory carvers of this period.
