Fine Ivory Staunton Chess set by Whitty of Liverpool , one side stained red other side left natural, all pieces with green felted bases and concentric turned rings, set with fine carved knights. Chess set comes in period mahogany slide lid box with purple felted interior.

Some major finds with Whitty stamps have surfaced recently and have helped categorise these pacticuler sets as the work of Richard Whitty whos premises were at Tithebarn Street, Liverpool, England in the late 19th century.
