Large Ivory carved bust chess set , one side stained red other side left natural. White pieces as King George III court opposing red side as Chinese court, white king carved as George III , white queen as Queen Charlotte, bishops as catholic priests, knights as horses heads , rooks as deep carved turrets with Union Jack flags & pawns as english foot soilders . Red king as Chinese Emperor , red queens as Empress, bishops as madarins, pawns as chinese foot soilders.

These fine sets came from Macao , then a portuguese colony by the South China Sea and were exported to the European market.
