REF959 Cartonpierre chess board by Leuchars
Circa 1850-1870

Tooled leather chess board by Leuchars of Piccadilly London. The exterior decorated in papier mache in a Gothic style with red leather background. The interior with tooled red & cream leather chess board stamped “Leuchars” “Piccadilly” to the border.

These fantastic boards were made to match the Jaques Cartonpierre caskets which held the Staunton pattern set.
