Fine carved ivory chess set, one side stained red other side left natural, this design of set is called the Burmese pattern although the sets never originated from Burma and were made in Canton for the western export market. This particular set has deep fine carved detail, kings, queens and bishops with carved faces to tops.

The set comes in its original lacquer trays with silk fitted interior also with two original  boxes lacquer with covers, with thirty ivory backgammon counters and two lacquer dice shakers.
