REF921 Fine Canton Ivory Set
Circa 1830-1850

Finest quality carved ivory set, set was produced in Canton for the export market. One side stained red other side left natural, the pieces are of the highest standard of carving each piece carved on large deep carved decorated bases,the eight sided bases with carved decoration to each side, the pieces are carved from one piece of ivory and not fixed to bases.

The Kings & Queens carved as Chinese  emperors & empresses with opposing courts, the detail of the carving is superb , the red pawns as four with musket and four with sword & shield, the white pawns with sword, shield & spears.
