Fine Indian ivory export chess set, one side stained green other side left natural.
The set was made in Vizagapatam in India being one of the finest areas of its time for ivory carving. Kings queens with fancy piereced galleries, bishops with elaborate pierced and decorated mitres, knights as rearing horses, rooks as spiked towers. The bases with fine carved detail.
