Circa 1860-1865
Fine ebony & boxwood Staunton chess set by Jaques of London. The white king stamped “JAQUES LONDON” , king side rooks & knights with crown stamps. All pieces with green baize to bases and an excellent original french polished finish.
Set comes in Carton Pierre casket same period as the Jaques Staunton chessmen. The caskets were made for these particular Jaques sets.
Kings 9 cm Tall.
These historic Jaques sets all come with signed authors copy of the Jaques collectors guide and insurance valuation.
