REF 1286 Large English Playing Set
Circa 1830-1850
Large Ivory English playing set, one side stained red other side left natural. The pieces with attractive multi turned decorated bodies similar in style to the Calvert sets of this period , also the carved knights with similar flowing manes as stamped Calvert sets. The rooks as large attractive double towers surrmounted by flags.
An impressive large set almost certainly from a top London makers work shops.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
