Early 1849
Fine turned & carved Ivory Staunton chess set, one side stained red other side left natural. White king stamped “J.JAQUES LONDON”. King side rooks and knights with crown stamps.
The style of knights and shape of the set would put this set in the first months of manufacture a rare early example with good colour to pieces.
