Ebony & boxwood Staunton set, white king stamped “J.JAQUES LONDON” . King side rooks & knights with crown stamps, all pieces with loaded bases and green baize.

Set comes in original mahogany lift top box.

Set retains an excellent original French polished finish.

A rare an early Jaques chess set the “J.JAQUES” stamp used by Jaques from 1849 untill 1851 and the style of the knights help date the set to 1850.

Kings 9 cm Tall.
