English playing set, one side boxwood other side ebony. Pieces with large turned bases and elaborate multi turned bodies.

An interesting and uncommon design , the quality of turning and the design of the knights would indicate this set coming from a good maker , I have had the exact same knights heads in good bone sets and other types of wood sets dating from the mid 19th century.

Kings 10 CM Tall.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
