REF1427 Fine Jaques folding chess board
Circa 1890-1915
Large Club size mahogany folding chess board , the sqaures of inlaid boxwood & rosewood.
The frame with two black Jaques paper trade labels. “JAQUES & SON MAKERS LONDON”
Interesting large board, boards of this size by Jaques were usually not folding .
The black label on boards came after the inset white label , most black label flat boards I have seen came with sets dating around 1890-1910 hence the dating. The black label was replaced by the gold lettering.
