REF1429 Large “Merrifield” type playing set.
Circa 1825-1850
Large fine turned & carved playing set, one sdie in a rich grained rosewood other side boxwood. Comes with original mahogany slide lid box.
Set retains original French polished finish.
Stylistically the knights carving , kings crosses , material amd over all look of the set may indicate it cam from Merrifields workshops or certainly a good London maker.
