Turned & carved Mammoth ivory Staunton pattern chess set one side left natural other side stained red.

A good size example with fine detailed knights.

The material is over ten thousand years old!

These sets were made in Canton for the western export market.

Set comes with a Canton laquered chess board box , the interior lined for backgammon, same period as set.
