Circa 1890-1910
Large weighted Staunton chess set , one side ebony other side boxwood. Pieces with loaded bases and green baize. Fine turned with good carved knights, set retains original French polish finish.
The knights style are of Whitty design , good wide bases to pieces also indiacte a good maker.
Comes in mahogany lift top box same period as set.
Set comes with an English ebonised framed board with boxwood & walnut squares , the board same period as set.
