REF1467 Fine Indian set used in “Sherlock & Watson”
Circa 1840-1860
Fine large Indian ivory export chess set, one side stained green other side left natural. The set was made in Vizagapatam in India being one of the finest areas of its time for ivory carving.All pieces carved with elaborate foliate decoration, bishops with pierced miters, knights as horses heads with decorated ranes, rooks as brick work decorated towers with figures dressed as Sepoy bearing flags.
Set used as a prop in “Holmes & Watson” 2018 . Used in the Baker street scenes. Comes with copy of film hiring contract.
