Fine ebony & boxwood tournament size Staunton chess set by Jaques of London.
The white king stamped “JAQUES LONDON” , king side rooks & knights with crown stamps. All pieces with green baize to bases.
Set retains an excellent original french polished finish.
Set comes in original Carton pierre casket with Jaques yellow paper trade label to underside. The Casket in the Neo Gothic style with chess board motifs and chess figures to the sides, the interior lined in burgundy velvet & lid lined in burgundy velvet. The lid with tooled leather decoration.
Kings 9 cm Tall.
These historic Jaques sets all come with signed authors copy of the Jaques collectors guide and insurance valuation.
All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
