German playing set Nuremburg. Fine selenus pattern turned bone chess set , one side stained red other side left natural bone. Kings & queens with fine detailed busts a top pierced galleries, knights as fine carved horses heads, rooks as towers with cresent tops, bishops with fine petal design mitres and pawns with decorated collars.
A fine & rare example from the master turners of Nuremburg.
Board comes with original pine slide lid box and pine & mahogany chess board same period / origin.
