Fine large English turned bone chess set, one side stained red other side left natural. The fine carving and style of the chessmen typical of the workshops of Charles Hastilow.
The pieces with attractive concentric turned bodies, knights as horses heads with ranes, rooks as double towers surmounted with flags.
Set comes with same period English tooled leather chess board in red & tanned squares.
Chessmen with original mahogany lift top box.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
