Fine Carton Pierre casket. The casket with extended base to fit the Jaques ivory club size with red label to underside . The red label dating 1854 – 1862.
Jaques red paper trade label to underneath “STAUNTON CHESS-MEN Registered No. 58,607, 5 & 6 Vict cap. 100 IVORY STAUNTON JAQUES LONDON”.
The Casket in the Gothic Taste with chess board motifs and chess figures to the sides, the interior lined in burgundy velvet, base raised to fit the library model & lid lined in burgundy velvet.
