Circa 1855 - 1865
Fine Ivory Staunton chess set, one side stained red, other side left natural, white king stamped ‘JAQUES LONDON’ , king side knights and rooks stamped with crowns.
Set comes in original Carton pierre casket with Jaques yellow paper trade label to underside. The Casket in the Neo Gothic style with chess board motifs and chess figures to the sides, the interior lined in blue velvet & lid lined in blue velvet. The lid with tooled leather decoration.

These historic Jaques sets all come with signed authors copy of the Jaques collectors guide and insurance valuation.
All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
