Circa 1850s
Fine carton pierre & leather board retailed by Austin of Ireland . The board stamped “AUSTIN. 6 & 7 St ANDREW St DUBLIN” .
These fine boards were made by Leuchars of London to compliment the Jaques chess sets. The Carton Pierre board matches with the Jaques Carton Pierre casket that the chessmen were sold in.
