Circa 1860-1890
Fine large English ebony & boxwood playing set. The design known as the “Edinbro Club” chessmen. Set with fine turned slender stems , dome shaped bases & good carved knights.
This pattern of chessmen was named after the Edinburgh chess club and was retailed from 1840-1890
Chessmen come in original mahogany slide lid box.
Kings 12 CM Tall
All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
