REF1908 Large chess board box & Staunton Chessmen.
Circa 1870-1900
Fine English walnut chess board box the interior with rosewood & boxwood inlaid chess board and two rosewood compartments for captured pieces. The interior with original walnut lift out storage case , lined in green baize to hold a large set of original wieghted Staunton chessmen, one side ebony other side boxwood, all pieces with laoded and felted bases. Both board and chessmen retain an excellent original french polished finish.
