Fine German Gilt metal Chessmen , one side silvered metal , opposing chessmen gilt metal. The set representing the court of Charlamagne. Similar to carved wooden sets of the same period and origin.
The chessmen comes in orginal fitted Box.
The interior with purple felted interior one compartment with padded lots to contain the pieces. The exterior in rosewood with boxwood and rosewood inlaid chess board.
