German bone playing set one side stained dark brown other side left natural. Pieces of typical Selenus pattern with kings and queens with pierced galleries , with slender turned bodies.
The chessmen come with same period attractive mahogany chess board, on raised brass ball feet, the board inlaid with rosewood border and mahogany & satinwood inlaid squares.
One side has drawer with brass petal hoop handle.
Chessmen contained in same period mahogany lift top box.
