English weighted Staunton pattern chessmen by Ayres of London. One side in boxwood opposing side in ebony. Kings side knights & rooks with crown stamps. The bases loaded and felted. Set retains original french polished finish.
An attractive turned set with good weight.
Set comes in original mahogany lift top box with green baize lined interior.

These fine Staunton sets were made by Ayres of London and retailed by many sports and games outlets across Britian including Army & Navy Stores.
