Fine large weighted English chessmen, one side in ebony other side boxwood. Pieces with Staunton, St George & upright pattern styles. The set retains original French polished finish.
A large and impressive set , all the pieces weighted with green felted bases.
The style quality of the pieces and style of knights are identical to other sets made by Jaques of London. For further reading see “Jaques & British chess company chess sets” by Alan Fersht.
The box comes with original mahogany slide lid box. The interior with identical baize used to the underside of the chessmen.
