Fine mahogany flooding chess & backgammon box. The chess board and backgammon board with holes to fit the pegged bone chessmen and pegged counters.

The chessmen in bone one side stained red other side natural. The backgammon pieces one side ebony other side bone.

The box of mahogany with rosewood & boxwood inlaid chess board. The interior with boxwood & rosewood inlaid backgammon.
These versatile attractive boxes were used on steamers and as travel sets.
