Fine turned & carved ivory chess set, one side stained red other side left natural.
Kings & queens with pierced decorated crowns & fine carved knights. These large impressive sets design of knights , quality of turning are typical of sets made by William & Thomas Lund from 1835 – 1843 from their London workshops.
Set comes in mahogany lift top box same period as the chessmen.
