German bone playing set one side stained dark brown other side left natural. Pieces of typical Selenus pattern with kings and queens with petal shaped galleries , with slender turned bodies. Chessmen in nthe Selenus pattern typical from the master craftsmen of Nuremberg Germany.

The chessmen come with same period attractive German walnut chess board with inlaid satin wood & walnut squares. The attractive moulded board interior opens to house the chessmen. The reverse of the chessbox with inliad nine mens morris game popular in the 19th century. Both sides with decorative brass  feet.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
