Fine English St George pattern set one side boxwood other side ebony in the St George pattern chessmen. The St George pattern was named after the St George chess club London, the design became popualr in the mid 1800s. A top quality set, with attractive detailed carved knights , fine turned bodies with good uniformity to all pieces. Set comes in mahogany lift top box , same period as the chessmen.

The English 0ak framed board with inset mahogany & boxwood squares. Board is same period as chessmen.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
