Fine turned & carved English chessmen , one side in rosewood other side in boxwood.

The multi turned bodies and fne carved knights are typical of good London makers from the first half of the 19th century. The style of knight and turned bases are typical of the London maker Calvert of London.

Chessmen come in same period mahogany lift top English chess box.
