Fine large turned & carved bone chessmen one side stained red other side left natural. Kings & Queens with unusual large bulbous turned bodies. Bishops & knights with multi turned stems, knights as carved horses heads, rooks as turned towers and pawns with urn shaped stems. The urn shape style was prolific from the late 18th to early 19th century in bone & ivory turned chessmen.
A rare pattern , I have not seen a complete set of this style in over thirty years.
The chessmen come in similar period mahogany lift top box.
Kings 10.5 CM Tall.
All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
