Fine turned & carved bone chessmen, one side stained red other side left natural. The attractive turned set with opposing coloured finials to kings, queens & bishops. The kings with pierced crowns. The origin of these chessmen are German typical of fine turned & carved chess men from the Nuremburg region.

Set comes in original pine slide lid box.

Chessmen comes with attractive mahogany framed chess board, borders of rosewood , the squares inlaid in mahogany & boxwood with brass acanthus leaf feet. The board with single brass handled drawer. Board retains original French polished finish. Chess board English date 1830 -1850
