Circa 1840-1860
Fine turned & carved bone chessmen one side stained red other side left natural. The pieces with concentric turned bodies, fine carved knights heads, rooks as towers surmounted by flag poles. The kings with Maltese crosses, Queens with feather tops typical of sets designed by Lund of London.
Chessmen come with same period English mahogany framed chess board the attractive carved frame with boxwood & mahogany inliad chessboard. The board retains original French polished finish with good patina.

Set comes in original mahogany slide lid box.
All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
