Fine turned & carved bone chessmen one side stained red other side left natural. These fine turned bone chessmen are typical of German chessmen made in the 19th century.
Chessmen come with same period mahogany lift top box.
The chess board dates the same period 1860 – 1890 in walnut , the board inlaid in boxwood & mahogany squares bordered ebony strung . The board retains original French polished finish.
