Fine mahogany framed chess board , the chess squares inlaid in birds eye maple and mahogany , the border in satinwood. The reverse with attractive specimen wood inlaid central panel, the panel inlaid in various woods with a silver inset plaque engraved ” “From Mrs Griffith of Charlieshope to Miss Edgeworth”.
Mary Griffith was a writer of sciences and Horticulture . She purchased Charlieshope Estate in 1820. New Jersey.
