Attractive large turned bone chessmen , one side stained red other side left natural.

Bishops with large open mitres, knights as detailed carved horses typical in style of this period, rooks as large towers with detail brickwork carving the red side with two tone decoration typical of the late 18th century. The pawns bodies of urn shape style which was prolific from the mid 18th to early 19th century in bone & ivory turned chessmen.

Chessmen come in original mahogany panelled slide lid box.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.

All sets come with certification insurance valuation . Certifies age , material origin and loss / replacement value.
