Fine detailed gilt & lacquer backgammon / chess board box, the exterior chess board with fine detailed gilt decorated work. The interior decorated to represent a backgammon board.
These fine detailed lacquer games boxes were made for the western market to compliment the fine Canton & Macao sets of this period.
The backgammon board with original Chinese lacquered wood counters (30) with a pair of original Chinese bamboo shakers. All same period as the board.
