REF3377 Early English chessmen , board & box.
Circa 1750 - 1790

Fine tuned & carved bone chessmen, one side stained brown other side left natural.

The slender turned pieces with urn shaped stems typical of the period, kings and queens with pierced galleries , knights with attractive curved kneck knights typical of English 18th century chessmen.

Chessmen come with English chess board same period as the chessmen. The board with ebonised frame with walnut inlaid chess board , the reverse with inlaid boxwood & walnut nine men morris board.

Rare heavy 18th century board that compliments the same period chessmen.

The chessmen housed in early 19th century mahogany slide lid box.
