Fine ebony & boxwood weighted Staunton set by British Chess Company of Stroud.
The pieces loaded and with green baize to bases. King side Rooks with crown stamps to tops, King side knights with crown stamps to bases.
Set comes in original “superior” mahogany lift top box with BCC paper trade label to lid The label indicates the set is size 4S.
BCC offered a choice of boxes with thier chessmen a stained pine latch lock box lacking lined interior , labelled as ” cheaper” or a polished mahogany box with lined interior and key lock labelled as the superior “s”.
