Fine Geislingen German tunred & carved polychome decorated bone playing chess set. The Kings , queens & bishops as European court, knights as horses heads & bishops as towers.
Set comes with original lift top box with padded silk interior.
These fine chessmen were made in Geislingen Germany in the mid to late 18th century. Geislingen was one of the main European turning & carving centres from the mid 18th century to the mid 19th century.
