REF3422 Congress Chess Timer by Jaques
Circa 1915 - 1925
Jaques chess timer, the case in mahogany with brass fittings including the “stop catch” lever.
The front case with trade plaque “JAQUES & SON LONDON CONGRESS CHESS TIMER”
The dials with the HAC cross arrows emblem , the Hamburg American Clock co. manufactured the movements & faces. These were then assembled by Jaques with there brass fitted mahogany cases.
The Timer with flags inset, which came on the later congress model. Jaques advertised non flag congress timers up to 1919 . the flag timers may have come in earlier than this date , Jaques may not have changed the illustration on adverts until 1919. start date may have been a few years earlier.
The case retains original French polished finish. with original green baize felted base.
The timer is in working order.
