Circa 1870 - 1910
Fine turned & carved bone Staunton pattern chessmen , one side natural other side stained red. The chessmen with green biaze to bases. The pieces come in same period tooled leather English folding games box . The exterior with tooled leather chess board , the interior housing the pieces also with tooled leather backgammon board.
The board box when folded represents two faux leather bound books both enscribed “HISTORY OF ENGLAND” VOL1 other VOL2.
