Fine early English rosewood & boxwood chessmen , the pieces with multi turned decorated bodies, with large domed bases, fine detailed carved knights. A good early example of fine chessmen the design typical of the fisrt half of the 1800s .
Set retains excellent original patination.
The chessmen with original English mahogany slide lid box, the box with mitre corners and paneled lid.
Chessmen come with same period English mahogany framed chess board, with boxwood & rosewood inlaid chess squares.
